Mike was born and raised in Windsor Ontario. He started his Plumbing Apprenticeship with U.A. Local 552 in 1994 and was completed it in 1999. After working on numerous construction jobs in Windsor area as a journeyman and then supervisor, his career took a different path. He served the Union as a Recording Secretary, Executive Board Member, Vice President and in 2007 was elected to the position of Business Manager & Financial Secretary. Although his job is demanding and challenging, Mike enjoys representing the hard working members of UA Local 552.

Mike always strives to do his best for the Local and its Membership. The piping industry is continuously changing in term of new work and new technology. “It is definitely challenging for me to stay on top of it”, said Mike Meloche.

Training is the core of the United Association and supplying our signatory contractors with the best trained craft persons is his # one priority. Although Mike is extremely busy, he still finds time to work with the Training Coordinator Ed Sleiman on all aspect of Training.
